New Year’s Resolutions – First Time Mum

First, I must apologize for my absence. I’m still adjusting to life as a new mum these days and most of my time is now spent breastfeeding, napping, and changing nappies. The small free time I have, I’m cleaning and/or running small errands which I’m guessing is pretty much the norm for new mums.

My year ended with some crazy new changes and now it’s time for me to reevaluate myself and see what resolutions I can achieve for next year. As this is a pregnancy blog, I’ll try my best to focus primarily on mommy related goals. So, let’s begin.

Cosleeping With Our Newborn

When we started this journey, I had every intention of having my baby sleep in her own crib (the Snuzpod) next to our bed, but unfortunately she’s spending little time in her crib and more time cosleeping next to us.

I was always so worried about co-sleeping due to both SIDS and the chance of smothering my child accidentally as I tend to move a lot in my sleep, however, at the moment our little girl only seems to fall asleep next to mommy and somehow I’ve just fallen straight into it. Where before I’d roll around the bed, I’m completely static now with one arm around Ali and the bedside crib right next to us with the mesh covering folded down.

Birth Story / Welcome Alessandra

The time has come; I am now ready to present to the world my little girl Alessandra. She was born 6lbs 11oz at 5:49am. I was in labour for 9 hours with the second part of labour taking only 14 minutes. I had a waterbirth and the only “drug” I used was gas and air which was INCREDIBLE.
